The Love Brunch & The Love Truck
This morning I had the pleasure of attending The Love Brunch at the Hay-Adams Hotel. It has become a super cute annual tradition for the Top of the Hay to play host to a plethora of DC’s lovely wedding planners for brunch on Valentine’s Day. It was so fun seeing everyone pretty in pink – and the tablescapes were lovely with flowers by Oceania (including a hanging floral garden on the ceiling!) We brunched and chatted overlooking the White House to the sounds of a wonderful duo from Elan Artists. Kendall’s Cakes provided couture cupcake favors for everyone to take home with amazingly realistic sugar flowers. I am sure the photographer’s photos will turn out way better than mine – but meanwhile, enjoy my iPhone/ instagram photos!
Gold stemware and chargers were set off by the irridescent peach and gold dupioni silk linens and sheer ruffled chair covers by Wildflower Linens.
Love the eclectic trays and vases!
Letterpress menus by Bella Figura.
A huge thank you to Alison Okobi and the rest of the Hay-Adams staff for organizing this lovely event – and including us! We think your venue is tops! (pun intended 🙂 Also, a big thanks to Doreen of Engaged Magazine.
After brunch, The Chicka Love truck paid a sweet surprise visit to a certain husband of mine’s office building. Pop music, pink drinks, cupcakes, doughnuts bigger than your head, candy hearts and all kinds of pink and red swag were to be had! What fun 🙂 Thanks to Chicka Chicka Boom Boom for bringing the party!
Doughnuts as big as your head!
We hope everyone had as sweet and fun a day as we did! You know, when you’re in the business of love…Valentine’s Day is a big deal! And as Eric and I’s first “married” Valentine’s Day, it was the best yet 🙂 Tonight he made reservations at a fancy schmancy restaurant that he won’t tell me the name of….but super excited for date night (and an excuse to wear that black sequin dress in my closet…with some pink accessories of course!)
xo,
Julie
