Nésa (Iranian) + Joe (Alaskan) had a celebration imbued with layers of meaningful cultural elements. They fell in love with the Anderson House – one of DC’s most fashionable [florentine] mansions along Embassy Row. They had a traditional Persian “aghd” ceremony and sofreh. The fish that was served for dinner was shipped straight from Alaska by Joe’s family. They had traditional sweets from a Persian bakery on the dessert bar along with a petite wedding cake for cutting, and of course some European-inspired macaron towers and croquembouches. We designed a wedding that combined Old-World european elegance and fashion-forward styling. We combined contrasting elements – ghost chairs and luxurious velvet ribbon, heavy, textured linens in a garden setting and loose, organic centerpieces with fine crystal glassware and candlesticks. even their paper goods paired organic calligraphy with a modern type and wax seals. *FEATURED IN GERALDINE MAGAZINE*
