We designed an enchanted late summer evening at the iconic Washington National Cathedral for Mary and Paul.  We drew inspiration from imagining a moonlit garden setting combined with the awe-inspiring gothic architecture of the Cathedral itself (the design of the Cathedral in the early 1900’s was heavily based on Notre Dame in Paris.). The mass took place in the Great Choir with cocktails following in the  courtyard.  Guests then entered the dinner and dancing reception in the Great Hall of the Cathedral, which was totally transformed for this event from how it typically looks for a Sunday Service.  The client’s main request for the reception? A seated dinner but with a very fun party vibe!  A large central boxwood and floral garden bar with thousands of  blooms anchored the massive space and served as a central hub for the evening.  Guests danced the night away to one of our favorite New York dance bands — or at least until it was time to head to the after party.
