It’s officially Cherry Blossom time in the nation’s capitol!  After the expected bloom date got pushed back a few times due to unseasonably cold weather, I’m happy to report that the pretty pink buds are finally popping.  I was just downtown near the tidal basin on Friday, hoping to show the blooms off to my visting in-laws, and there was nada to see.  Just goes to show you what a few days of warmer weather can achieve!  Despite the lack of blooms, we still went to The Willard Hotel for their delicious, annual cherry blossom tea (a tradition of ours!) and there were no shortage of beautiful cherry blossom trees to decorate Peacock Alley for the tea.  For a complete list of restaurants with cherry blossom inspired menus that are participating in the festival, click here.
