Jamie & Ryan: A Whimsical Boardwalk Wedding

When we met with Jamie for a consultation in February, she had already booked her venue and her photographer, Susan O’Connor. Everything else was TBD – she and her fiance were extremely busy and hadn’t hired any other vendors or done any other planning for their upcoming June wedding. With the wedding 4 months away and starting to feel the pressure, Jamie gladly let us take the reigns…she made it clear she just wanted to show up and be pleasantly surprised! Jamie liked the feel of shabby chic, vintage garden weddings and wanted to combine that feminine/vintage feel with the beach club setting. We let that vibe show through with the paper details and florals – lots of hydrangea, garden roses with natural greens and antique silver and mercury vases. More than anything, she wanted the wedding to be FUN…so a “boardwalk” vibe was created with some lawn games and cute mini foods you’d find at an amusement park were present at the extra long cocktail hour, accompanied by oldies tunes and electro swing. At the reception, a carousel themed dessert bar that was equal parts nostalgic and glam took center stage complete with a custom textured backdrop with tiny hanging mirrors and their initials in marquee lights! The dinner table linens were a combination of grey and white stripes and an abstract pattern, making it fun and playful. Our crafting guru, Angi, handmade all the fringe balloon tassels, chandelier and the floating hot air balloon card box holder! Definitely one of our “craftiest” weddings yet 🙂
