Cozy Capital Chic Wedding at DAR

Photos by: Kate Headley

On a cool and sunny November day, Monica and Josh had a classic Washingtonian wedding with a reception at DAR boasting views of the Washington Mall and monuments.  Despite the 200+ guests, we pulled off the cozy and intimate vibe the bride was seeking.  To cozy up the grand venue, we added lots of comfortable velvet upholstered lounge seating, throw blankets,  vintage and eclectic touches.   A pristine palette of grey and lavender was layered with pops of rich jewel tones balanced by organic textures of wood and greenery.  Spiked hot cider was brought in from the groom’s hometown in upstate NY.  As a late night surprise, The Dancing Presidents came out to party with guests (a nod to the couple’s first date at a National’s game.) . *As seen in The Knot Magazine*
